On March 29, 2006, the moon cast its shadow on the Earth during a rare solar eclipse, plunging millions into darkness for a few minutes. After crossing the Atlantic ocean eastwards, the immense shadow landed on the African continent, prompting millions of Ghanaians to look up to the sky. Using special glasses, people marvelled at the unusual event as Accra, the country's capital, experienced total darkness for just over three minutes. |
